Additive Manufacturing: Technical Starter Training - Get Started! (ADDMSTART)

This trainings provides a comprehensive insights into Additive Manufacturing (AM), spanning from fundamentals to applications to technology outlook. Participants will learn about the main AM technologies and respective materials and will discover how material properties and process parameters influence cost and quality. Intensive theoretical design sessions and supplementary exercises provide you a working knowledge of what to consider for creating a “printable” design, considering relevant AM design rules. All this and the presentation of an entire AM approach shown on a Siemens example will help you to conceptualize Additive Manufacturing in a holistic manner.

This training is mainly designed for technical roles such as designers, conceptual and process engineers with little or no previous knowldege of Additive Manufacturing who want to learn how to apply and incorporate Additive Manufacturing in their daily business.

Interactive exercises to understand application of main AM technologies and respective materials and build up your ecosystem required for AM
Apply AM design rules in an interactive working sessions (using metal as an example)
Develop an understanding of AM-critical influencing factors such as

- Cost drivers
Develop an understanding of AM-critical risk factors such as
- Intellectual property
- Health and safety (EHS)

Each participant will be able to fine tune their newly learned AM skills with the help of an internal AM expert in a 1 hour coaching session
To make the training as interactive as possible, an e-learning ( 2h) will be sent out as preparation approximately 2 weeks prior to the training
